Jeff Meacham - Defender / Forward

Debut : Rushden Town (H) - 18th August 1990
Last Game : Harrow Borough (H) - 11th January 1992

2nd Debut : Trowbridge Town (H) - 23rd February 1993
Last Game : Trowbridge Town (H) - 23rd February 1993

Meacham was a striker signed as a replacement for crowd favourite Chris Townsend who'd left for Dorchester Town.

Having finished the 1989-90 campaign as top scorer in the Beazer Homes Southern division with Trowbridge Town Meacham couldn't have found life in the Premier tougher having to wait until his fifteenth game to finally find the net, and that was a tap in from under the posts as City were humbled 1-4 at Farnborough Town in the FA Cup.

What followed was a revelation as the former Bristol Rovers man was played at left back as an emergency measure and made the number three shirt his own, started to find the back of the net on a regular basis and went on to scoop the player of the season award as City narrowly missed out on promotion.

During his second season as the club needed to cut their financial cloth according he was reputed to be playing for the club just for expenses and it was with sadness that he left after playing his final game at home to Harrow Borough in the FA Trophy in January 1992.

That wasn't it for Meach though as the popular defender came back to City and played a one-off game against his former team Trowbridge on 23rd February 1993.
